Lesson Eight – Mortgage Call Report


All state mortgage licensees must submit a report of condition as required by the NMLS. The NMLS Mortgage Call Report was developed by state regulators.

Companies that hold a state license or state registration through NMLS are required to complete a Mortgage Call Report. Companies must submit at least their application and origination activity information on a quarterly basis.


The Standard MCR contains two components:

  • Residential Mortgage Loan Activity (RMLA) – This component collects application, closed loan, individual mortgage loan originator, Line of Credit and repurchase information by state.
  • Financial Condition (FC) – This component collects financial information at the company level. It does not have to be completed by state.

Some states have reporting requirements in addition to the Mortgage Call report.  If you are conducting business and licensed in a state which requires additional reporting outside of the Mortgage Call report your company must continue to submit the reports currently required by the state agency in addition to the NMLS Mortgage Call report. Be sure to check with your state agency for more information.
